Artist Statement
For me, art exists in the everyday. Through my work, I explore the joy of life’s mundane and intimate moments. I use vibrant colors, bold patterns, and dynamic shapes to create a visual language that’s indicative of the patterns of my youth. Since I was a child, I found solace in creating swirling shapes that interact in unusual ways. The hyper femininity of these designs are representative of the fullness and energy that exist within the everyday. Drawing inspiration from candid and childhood photographs, I often depict those I love in moments of daily intimacy. Within both my art practice and life, I emphasize the power of feminine bonds as a means of reflection and celebration.
